6mm Hematite-Colored Round Glass Pearls [50]
Cost per bead: |
6.6 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm round (spherical). |
Colors/description: |
Glass beads (white or clear) with a hematite-colored synthetic coating. Hematite is the same as the "gunmetal gray" color. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it will be. Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads). A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
Hematite pearls are more lustrous and look less like real metal than either real hematite beads or hematite-coated glass beads. Please note the price recently went up by 70 cents per lot because the supplier raised its price. Also, when I bought them in 2008, I got them on sale.
I have posted an earlier picture and a more recent picture. The picture in which the beads look more silvery is the older picture. I think the newer picture is more accurate. |
