Size/shape: |
These beads have a typical seed-bead shape, which is somewhat like a pony bead with rounded edges. The beads are 4mm to 4.5mm wide and approximately 3mm long or thick.
|
Colors/description: |
White ceramic beads, some with a blue stain and some with a purple stain (the overall effect is more blue than purple). Some beads are lighter than others -- the effect of the varying colors and shades is very nice.
|
Hole size: |
1.5mm (estimated).
|
Defects: |
Not all beads are the same width or thickness, but that is normal for seed beads. Some beads are darker or lighter than others.
|
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. The close-up shots may show details or defects that the human eye can't discern. If your monitor has the brightness turned up (as many people keep their monitors), the beads may look lighter than they actually are.

Comments: |
These beads are from my 1980's stash when I was making jewelry myself. They are more sophisticated than most seed beads, with colors that vary slightly from bead to bead. As with all seed beads, the size varies slightly from one bead to the next. I am fairly sure that the beads are ceramic and not white glass (under the colored stain). Whether that makes them more or less strong or durable, I don't know. In the 1980's, I used these beads for informal jewelry only. I also sell metallic seed beads from my 1980's stash under the number G2312, though these are more expensive.
