Beads per lot: |
100 |
Cost per bead: |
2.6 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
3mm (from hole to hole) x 5mm (wide) nugget-shaped beads. Since they are wider than they are long, they can be considered unevenly shaped rondelles. Note: These beads are almost impossible to measure because of their small size. I suspect that they are only about 4.5mm at the widest point, but I am not sure. |
Colors/description: |
Translucent ruby red with a high-gloss luster coating. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any defects. It's almost impossible to see defects in beads this small. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead, but that can't be helped. |
Comments: |
I don't know if the color in the picture is entirely accurate because my monitor doesn't reproduce reds perfectly. Specifically, it tends to make the ruby red color look like an orange-red. Consequently, i always adjust the picture slightly towards the purple. Another reason the picture may not look like the actual beads is that their appearance depends on what kind of light they are being viewed under. Surprisingly, they look darker to me under very bright light than they look under medium light (that's because of the effect that the luster coating has). As I said above, the beads may not be a full 5mm wide, but rather 4.5mm. I can't tell because they are difficult to hold and measure due to their small size. All of the beads in the pictures are sitting on their holes, so you can't see what they look like when they are strung. When strung, they look like uneven rondelles. I can't string all of the beads that I have bought that are in this shape, so I am including a picture of the green luster beads, which I did string. That will give you an idea of what the beads look like when strung. |
