Size/shape: |
4mm (thick) x 6mm (wide) ring-shaped beads. I think the term "pony" comes from the shape of the bead that is sometimes put at the top of a pony's tail.

Colors/description: |
Translucent sapphire blue with silver paint in the holes.
|
Hole size: |
2mm to 2.5mm (estimated).
|
Defects: |
The holes running through the beads look to be a little rough, and that roughness can be seen through the glass. Also, the paint job may be a little sloppy on some beads so that paint can be seen around the edges of the holes or on the outside of the bead, where it doesn't belong. In addition, please note that the paint in the hole will eventually degrade and fall out. However, these beads are already 4 to 5 years old, and I don't see any evidence of deterioration.

How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps.

Comments: |
Curiously, the silver lining makes the blue appear darker. Thus, when you look at the beads with holes facing you, they look brighter and bluer than when you look at the beads with the rounded sides facing you.
