6mm (thick) x 9mm (wide) faceted rondelles. A rondelle is a round bead which is wider than it is long (or thick). |
Colors/description: |
A mixture of clear glass, translucent gray glass (I think, but I'm not sure), opaque orange glass, and opaque light grayish-blue glass. There may be other colors in there that I can't see. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The beads appear to be in good shape. However, all fire-polished beads have some imperfect facets. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
These beads are made from what is generally called "hurricane" glass. They take the left-over colors from a day of making beads, and they mix them together in swirls. I've seen hurricane glass that was just muddy, but these are a little nicer than average. These are dark, moody beads. They only look bright when bright light is shining directly on them. |
