Comments: The actual beads are a little lighter than the picture shows, meaning that the purple color is not so dark.  They look dark in the picture because they were photographed against a background; when held up to the light, they look quite transparent.  Also, the actual beads are more of an amethyst purple (meaning a reddish purple) than the picture shows.  The camera made the beads look bluish purple, so I had to adjust the color in my photo-editing program, but I wasn't able to adjust it all the way without making the picture look strange.  In addition, the bronze-luster coating is more pronounced and a richer color than the picture indicates.  To save time and trouble, I am putting both the 3mm and the 4mm beads under this one style number.  The beads in the picture are the 4mm beads, but the 3mm beads look about the same, but are MUCH smaller.  You must specifically choose the 3mm size or you will get the 4mm size.

The supplier calls this color "bronze illusion", which I think is just a bit of puffery.  I should point out that I already carry similar beads in 4mm under the number G1790.

I might as well take this opportunity to talk about the difference between gold-luster, bronze-luster and copper-luster coatings.  Really, there's no difference.  I look at the beads and make a quick decision about which term to use.  I'll usually use the term "gold" if the coating is light, and I'll use the term "bronze" if the coating is heavier.  Sometimes the coating looks a little reddish, so I'll use the term "copper".  Such coatings are always metal-based (a mixture of glass and metal) and are sprayed on the beads while they are still hot, so they are very durable.  I only use the term "synthetic" for coatings which are polymer (plastic) based.
