The beads appear to be in good shape. The beads do not seem to be absolutely uniform in size, and that seems to be the result of the textured surface. Note: While working with the beads, I have noticed that some white flakes sometimes comes out of the holes. The inner glass appears to be white, so I assume that the flakes are glass, but I am not sure -- and I also don't know what significant this has. |

I usually know how the beads I sell are made, but I have no idea how these textured beads are made. It would seem that they have some kind of thick coating, and as a result some beads are slightly larger or smaller than others. The price of these beads was the highest that I have ever paid for non-faceted 8mm beads, so my price has to be high also. About the picture: My point-and-shoot camera made the beads look more blue than they actually are, so I had to shift the color towards the green in my photo-editing program. The color is now approximately right; however, the picture now has an artificial "colorized" quality to it. But it's the best I can do. |
