9mm Turquoise/Brown Umber Square Beads [50] (see Defects)
Style no.: | G2055 |
Beads per lot: | 50 |
Cost per bead: | 10 cents |
Bead material: | Glass |
Country of origin: | Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
9mm squares, about 4mm thick. |
Colors/description: | Each bead has brown umber on one side and a mixture of turquoise and clear glass on the other side. In some kinds of light, the brown umber looks more like a coral red or orange. |
Hole size: | 1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
I examined 150 of the beads and found that 6 were cracked, which is a percentage of 4%. That is within the margin of defects which I consider to be acceptable (5%). However, I also noticed some nicks and other defects, so I reduced the price from $5.80 to $5.00 per lot. The defective beads are not distributed evenly throughout the strands. If you receive more than 2 or 3 defective beads per lot of 50, please contact me for a pro-rated refund. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
My pictures of these beads didn't get the colors right. Right out of the camera, the turquoise portion of the beads looked too blue. When I shifted the color of the picture to make the turquoise look more green, that made the brown umber look red. I ended up compromising, so neither the turquoise nor the brown umber look quite right. The supplier is charging a premium price for these beads, which is why they are so expensive (even after the discount). |
