7mm Opaque Baby Blue Round Beads [50]
Style: | G2022 |
Beads per lot: |
50 |
Cost per bead: |
5 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
India |
Size/shape: |
7mm round (spherical). The beads are a little squat, so from hole to hole, they measure a little less. |
Colors/description: |
Opaque light baby blue which, in some kinds of light, looks a little aqua. When viewed close up, a swirl pattern can be seen in the glass. The finish on these beads is what I call "buff" -- not as shiny as glass beads usually are, but exactly matte either. |
Hole size: |
1.5mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
Indian beads are rarely perfectly formed and shaped, and these are no different. Some are a little smaller than 7mm, and a few are malformed. Also, many of them have pits. Altogether, I would say that the percentage of defective beads doesn't exceed 10%. When I notice defects, I remove the defective beads, but I don't always notice them (inspecting every bead isn't possible). Because of the defects, I set the price fairly low. |
How photographed: | At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
The supplier calls these beads "turquoise", and they do look a little like bluish turquoise. However, to my eyes they look more blue than aqua, so I am calling them blue. Every once in a while I get Indian beads because they have a different quality from Czech beads. These beads are fairly plain, but I still like them. |
