Glass beads (probably white) with a lustrous light olive-green synthetic coating.

Defects:

The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is.  Inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes, but those beads are often still usable.  Sometimes there are sharp little "tags" of coating sticking out around some of the holes; the best way to remove them is with cuticle nippers.  A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as small lumps or indentations.

My picture shows the beads to be darker than they are.  The color in the supplier's picture (below) is more accurate, except that the actual beads are a little darker:
NOTE:  Since I posted these beads many years ago, they have faded ever so slightly, which means that they look a little more olive than my picture indicates.  Curiously, the supplier's picture (above) looks very similar to the way they look now in 2020.  Since the beads may fade further, I have lowered the price -- but if they are fading at all, they seem to be fading very slowly.  I further lowered the price when I saw that some beads have lost a small amount of coating from around the holes (that happens when they are pulled off the strands).  Please note that since I noticed in 2013 that my glass pearls were fading, I have stopped purchasing them.
