Beads per lot: |
75 |
Cost per bead: |
5 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm round (spherical). |
Colors/description: |
Glass beads, probably milky white but possibly clear, with a lustrous dark-brown synthetic coating. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: | The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is. Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads). A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. |
How photographed: | At the window in natural daylight. |

The picture shows the original batch. The new batch is from a new supplier. The new beads are lighter and slightly coppery looking, but they are still definitely brown. It's possible that they have faded slightly since they were purchased. I am no longer buying glass pearls because the coatings can change colors. My blurb above about the defects was written for beads from the old manufacturer. These beads look like they may be more perfect than the old ones. |
