Style no.: |
G1904 |
Beads per lot: |
20 |
Cost per bead: |
18 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
8mm (long) x 9mm (wide) chubby saucers with flutes at top and bottom, and small facets around the middle. (If you can't figure out what I'm talking about, see the picture!) |
Colors/description: |
Opaque coral pink with a brown picasso coating top and bottom (i.e., on the fluted, non-faceted portions of the beads). |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any significant defects, although fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. However, the facets on these beads are very small, so defective facets won't be noticeable. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. Also, the close-up shot may show defects that the human eye can't discern. |
Comments: |
The beads pictured are the second batch of these beads (the current batch). The appearance of the beads has changed since the first batch, which had a darker picasso coating. The first batch had more of a contrast between the pink glass and the picasso coating than there is with this new batch. I'm not going to make any judgements about which batch is more attractive, but I will say that the new beads have a more homogenous appearance (referring to the colors). My pictures are fairly accurate, so you will have to decide. Unfortunately, the supplier raised its price, so my price had to go up a little also. I sold the previous batch in lots of 25, and this batch in lots of 20. |
