G2259 |
Beads per lot: |
25 |
Cost per bead: |
12 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
12mm (long) x 9mm (wide) x 3mm (thick) flat ovals with a curl (like potato chips). The hole runs through the length. |
Colors/description: |
Translucent topaz (golden yellow) with loose black horizontal stripes. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
Some beads have irregular stripes, or the stripes are thicker than normal, making the bead appear dark. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. The close-up shot may show defects that the human eye can't discern. |
Comments: |
The topaz with black stripes color combination is simply called "tortoise" by the Czech manufacturers and wholesalers. It's never been a favorite of mine, but I've warmed up to it over the years, and it sells fairly well. |
