2x6mm Alexandrite/Gold Luster Rondelle Beads [100]
Style: G1814
Cost per bead: 5 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: 2mm (thick) x 6mm (wide) disks, wafers or rondelles (depending on which term you like) with the hole through the middle (i.e., through the short dimension).
Colors/description: Bright alexandrite with a gold luster coating (I used to call this the "gossamer" coating, but I've dropped that term because it isn't very descriptive).
Defects: The beads appear to be in good shape, although the picture revealed one or two beads with flat spots on the outer edge.
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: Alexandrite glass appears light blue or bluish violet in some kinds of light, and violet in other kinds of light. However, these beads seem to be a deeper alexandrite that I have been getting recently which looks violet all the time. Depending on the light, the gold luster coating may appear more or less opaque. In direct bright light, you can see through the coating fairly well to the violet bead underneath. I am selling these beads in lots of 100 because they come strung that way.
