8x9mm Opaque Red Picasso Fluted Saucer Beads [25]
Style: G2324
Beads per lot: 25
Cost per bead: 17 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: 8mm (long) x 8.5mm (wide) chubby saucers or rounded bicones with flutes at top and bottom, and small facets around the middle. (If you can't figure out what I'm talking about, see the picture!)
Colors/description: Opaque fire-engine red with a grayish-brown picasso coating top and bottom.
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: I haven't noticed any significant defects, although fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. However, the facets on these beads are very small, so defective facets won't be noticeable.
How photographed: Between two daylight-balanced lamps.
Comments: My picture isn't completely accurate. It shows the red to be a lighter, brighter red than it actually is. Indeed, in order to make the red seem darker, I had to make the entire picture somewhat dark -- so my picture makes the beads look darker than they are (except for the red). I am including the supplier's picture -- that's the picture which shows just one strand of beads. That picture also shows the red to be too light. (Please note that as I write this, it is nighttime, and I am using lamps to evaluate the appearance of the beads. It is possible that if this were day, the daylight might make the red look brighter, meaning more like the picture.)
