Cost per bead: |
12 cents |
Bead material: |

Country of origin: |

Size/shape: |
6mm (thick) x 8.5mm (wide) |
Colors/description: |
Clear beads with an amber (golden yellow) picasso (mottled) coating on the smooth portions of the beads. Facets run around the outer edge. (Rondelle's are tire-shapped or disk-shaped.) |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
All fire-polished beads have some imperfect facets. Also, some beads have gotten picasso coating in the holes, so the holes (which can be seen through the clear glass) look dark-brown. I estimate that less than 5% of the beads have coating in the holes, so I have not made any reduction in the price for those beads (this is a common defect of translucent picasso beads). |
How photographed: | Under two daylight-balanced lamps. (Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped.) |
Comments: |
About the size: The supplier says that these beads are 9mm wide, but my measurement indicates that they are 8mm to 8.5mm wide. About the picture: These beads came loose from the supplier. Instead of photographing them all on their sides (which I usually do with loose beads because I'm lazy), I strung up about 150 of them so you could see what they look like when strung. |
