6x9mm Baby Blue Picasso Faceted Rondelle Beads [25]
Style: | F610 |
Beads per lot: | 25 |
Cost per bead: | 18.4 cents |
Bead material: | Glass |
Country of origin: | Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm (thick) x 8mm (wide) rondelles with facets around the outer edge. The supplier calls these 6x9mm, but they measure 8mm to 8.5mm wide. A rondel is any round bead which is wider than it is long, with the hole through the middle. |
Colors/description: |
Opaque baby blue with a medium-brown picasso coating on the non-faceted portions of the beads (some beads have some olive green in the coating). I could call these beads "bluish turquoise", but I think they are just blue. |
Hole size: | 1mm (estimated). |
Defects: | I haven't noticed any significant defects. However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight balanced lamps. The lamps, unfortunately, leave two bright spots on each bead. Note: Because of differences in cameras, photo-editing programs, and monitors (especially monitors), the colors you see on your screen, and also the brightness of the beads, may not be entirely true to life. The colors may also differ depending on what light source you use (direct sunlight, daylight, incandescent bulbs, fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs, etc.). |

Sadly, the second batch of these beads is not quite as nice as the first batch (in my opinion). The first batch had a more colorful picasso coating, which I preferred. The new beads have just a mottled brown coating. It is perfectly nice, but I miss the purple hues that the first batch of these beads had. (The pictures show the new beads.) It goes without saying that if you bought these beads before, you will find this new batch slightly different. However, the beads are similar enough that I mixed the remaining dozen or so old beads in with the new beads, and they blended well. |
