Size/shape: |
5mm (long) x 6mm (wide) beads molded into a rosebud shape, with facets around the outer edge.
|
Colors/description: |
Translucent tanzanite purple beads with a mottled bronze "picasso" coating. The coating has the effect of obscuring the tanzanite glass so that the beads look black.

Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
I haven't noticed any significant defects. However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
As I said above, these beads have a tanzanite-colored core, but the coating obscures the color and makes the beads look black (with a bronze coating). If you hold the beads up to bright light, you can see the tanzanite color; but it's entirely possible that your customers may never notice that the beads aren't black. I should add that the supplier calls the coating bronze, but it looks more like gold to me. Of course, the coating may not have either metal in it.
