Some beads are slightly smaller or larger than others; the size range is about 10.3mm to 11mm, with most of them being around 10.6mm (I only measured a few, actually). The beads were sprayed with color and laid on a surace, and where they touched the surface, a ring can be seen; but the ring tends to blend in with the rest of the bead. Unlike the 7mm version of these beads, which I carried in 2014, this 11mm version doesn't have a visible seam, so they are more perfect than the 7mm version was. |

These beads are from my private stash of beads from the 1980's, when I made jewelry myself. There were little slips of paper among the beads saying "Japan", so I have to assume that that's where they were made. I carried the 7mm version of these beads in 2014 (if I had known I also had an 11mm version, I would have posted them together). As I say above, these beads have fewer imperfections than the 7mm beads had, so I am charging a higher price for them. These beads are more suitable for informal jewelry than for formal jewelry. I'm only guessing that these are ceramic beads because they seem lighter than glass. |
