Style: | R023 |
Beads per lot: |
5 |
Cost per bead: |
80 cents |
Bead material: |
Clay |
Country of origin: |
China |
Size/shape: |
32mm flat ovals, about 12mm thick, although some may be thicker. I call them "flat ovals", but the sides are rounded, not completely flat. |
Colors/description: |
Ceramic or pottery beads with a mottled turquoise and brown glaze. |
Hole size: |
2mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The beads are not perfectly shaped because they are hand-made. Since they are premium beads, I am inspecting them individually and eliminating defective beads before shipping. However, small anomalies (like small spots where the glaze didn't cover) won't be eliminated. The beads have a very rustic appearance, so minor defects should not be a problem. |
How photographed: | At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
The colors of the actual beads are a little duller than the picture makes them appear. I took my picture during the daytime, but I fixed it up at night, looking at the beads under artificial light while I was doing it. The beads look darker and more contrasty under artificial light, and they look lighter and duller under natural light. Consequently, these beads may not look to you quite how they look in the picture. The size of the beads can vary somewhat. These beads are enormous and heavy, heavy enough that they will distort the shape of a necklace if you combine them with significantly lighter beads. Also, they may be too heavy to make into earrings. I must have been drunk when I ordered them. I can't imagine what kind of jewelry can be made with such large beads, but hopefully someone will buy them. |
