4mm Milky Orange Vitrail English-Cut Beads [120]
Cost per bead: 3 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: Czech Republic
Size/shape: 4mm round with molded facets; the facets, being molded, are not particularly smooth.
Colors/description: Milky or opalescent orange with a dark brown metallic coating sprayed on part of each bead. The coating appears to be a "vitrail" or "iris" coating that reflects other colors, especially blue. It's possible that the coating is black but looks brown because the orange color shows through the coating.
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: The beads appear to be in good shape. However, as I noted above, the facets are molded, so they are not smooth (but then, they are hard to see anyway, since the beads are so small). Of course, if these were fire-polished beads, they wouldn't have smooth facets either.
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: These beads definitely feel a bit cheap, and they should be used in informal jewelry only. They come on strands of 120, so I am selling them that way.
