These are not real silver beads; they are glass beads. I don't know if there is actual silver in the coating. If the beads are fire-polished, which I suspect they are, they should not tarnish. Fire-polishing (which is done to non-faceted beads as well as faceted beads) bonds the coating to the surface of the bead, preventing it from deteriorating or coming off. Whether or not these beads could pass for real silver beads, I don't know, but they look very good to me. |
