Defects: |
At least half of the beads have fissures around one of the holes. It seems to me that the fissures should be invisible on a black bead, but for some reason they are grayish. Even so, they are not very noticeable. Nonetheless, I lowered the price from $2.50 to $2.20. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. Also, the close-up shot may show defects that the human eye can't discern. |
Comments: |
I'm not very happy with these beads. The finish doesn't look like the normal matte finish. It has some shine to it, meaning that it isn't dull enough. In fact, the beads look like stone beads (black slate, perhaps) that haven't been properly polished. They also don't look quite as jet black as I would like them to be. And certainly the fissures, though hard to see, don't add anything to the appearance. Usually when I buy a new bead style, I buy two mass (2400 beads); but in this case I bought only one mass, and I'm glad I did. Having disparaged the beads, I should say that unless your customers look very closely at them, they probably won't find anything wrong with them. |
