The supplier of these beads calls them "garnet luster", and for a while I was fooled by that designation. But then I finally looked at them closely and realized why they are so dark because they have a hematite or "gunmetal" coating. Thus, these are like the 6mm round hematite-colored beads (G249) that I sell, except that when you hold them up to the light, you can see red inside. In my opinion, that makes them more interesting beads than I originally thought. By the way, the words "hematite" and "gunmetal" are pretty much exchangeable on my site. Sometimes I use one word because it sounds better, and other times I use the other word because it sounds better. |

Caleb's notes: | Curiously, the brown luster beads were much more expensive than these, though they are very similar. So I averaged the price together with these so that I could sell the brown beads at a more reasonable price. |
