6mm Mixed-Color Chinese Round Glass Pearls [50] (see Defects)
Style: G1929
Beads per lot: 50
Cost per bead: 3.6 cents
Bead material: Glass
Country of origin: China
Size/shape: 6mm round (spherical).
Colors/description: Glass pearls with a synthetic coating in a variety of colors (please see the picture), including a black pearl that doesn't look very pearl-like.
Hole size: 1mm (estimated).
Defects: These beads are perfectly round, but they have one glaring defect: Most beads have depressions around the holes. Also, as I've worked with the beads I've noticed that they are not all the same size -- without measuring them, I estimate that some are 5.5mm and some are 6.5mm. In addition, I have no experience with Chinese pearls, and I don't know how durable the coating is. I lowered the price quite a bit.
How photographed: At the window in natural daylight.
Comments: If these pearls didn't have the depressions (or indentations) around the holes, they would be nice enough. What will happen is that your spacer beads will seem to sit inside the pearls a little. Overall, they don't seem as well finished as Czech pearls are.
