Beads per lot: |
50 |
Cost per bead: |
7 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
9mm long x 6mm wide teardrop-shaped beads with the hole running sideways through the narrow end. |
Colors/description: |
Translucent tuby red (actually, the supplier calls them "light garnet") with a gray metallic luster coating that looks like hematite. The coating isn't so dense that you can't see the color of the glass. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The picture revealed that an occasional bead has a dent in the side; I haven't noticed any other defects. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. I tried photographing the beads under the lamps, but each bead came out with a halo of light reflections on it that were was very distracting. |
Comments: |
The actual beads are much nicer than the picture indicates. Firstly, the red color in the picture isn't quite right. The actual red is richer and more pleasing. When I adjusted the red one way, it started to look orange; and when I adjusted it the other way, it started to look purple, so I had to leave it just about where it was. Secondly, the beads are more sparkly and perfect-looking than they appear in the pictures. They are really very nice beads. |
