When I was making jewelry in the 1980's, this was the clasp I used for all my good necklaces. Thus, when I decided to start carrying findings, it was the first thing I looked for. These appear to be precisely the same clasps that I used then, and I just loved them. The supplier doesn't say what percentage of the clasps is gold; however, they always seemed very durable to me when I used them years ago (but then, I never wore them, so I don't really know). (There are some markings on the side of the clasp that probably give its gold content [probably 5%], but I can't read the markings even with a magnifying glass.) Unfortunately, these large clasps are the most expensive gold-filled fish & hook clasps on the market. If I were paying the 1980's wholesale price, I would be able to sell them for about $4.00 -- but there has been a lot of inflation since then. The going rate for these clasps is about $6, so you may be able to find them for less elsewhere. In order to sell them for $6.50, I have had to take a smaller-than-usual markup.
