Beads per lot: |
50 |
Cost per bead: |
6 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm bicones. A bicone is like two pyramids attached at their bases, with the hole running through the center. |
Colors/description: |
Opalescent white. The amount of white in the glass varies slightly from one bead to the next. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The picture revealed that about a half-dozen beads have dirt in the glass. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. Also, the close-up shot may show defects that the human eye can't discern. |
Comments: |
Aside from the few beads that have dirt in the glass, the beads are very nice. Good opalescent beads should have a minimum of white in them; otherwise, they just look milky. However, I have also noticed that most opalescent beads give off yellow light, and these beads don't, and I don't know why. Nonethless, I think the beads have just enough white in them. Regarding my picture, I really need to get a gray background to photograph white beads on. Photographing white beads on a white plate just doesn't work. |
