| Size/shape: | 3.5mm (long) x 4mm (wide) faceted bicones. Bicones are like two pyramids joined at the base, with the hole running through the centers of the pyramids. Unlike molded bicones, which have 4 sides, cut-crystal bicones have 7 sides. |

The package had a hand-written word on it -- "coated" -- which seems to indicate that the beads are coated. If they are, the coating is very hard (the more modern synthetic coatings are indeed harder than the older coatings). I looked at them with a magnifying glass, and I couldn't tell if they are coated. If they are, I feel confident that the coating will be durable (given how hard it is). Also, if they are indeed coated, then the inner glass would be colorless, and the pink color would be on the surface only. |
