The beads appear to be in good shape. I estimate the defective beads to be no more than about 2%. As is often the case, a seam can be seen in the middle of each bead, but the seam isn't prominent or very noticeable. |

These beads are from my 1980's stash (i.e., beads which I accumulated when I was making jewelry myself). What that means is that they are 30 to 40 years old. Does that make them "vintage"? Frankly, I'm not sure. However, I think they are nice beads, and certainly comparable in quality to what's being made today. About the picture: At the time that I took the picture, I felt that it was accurate. But as I've worked with the beads, I've changed my mind. The picture appears over-exposed, and the color is slightly off (it is too cold). The actual beads are a warmer color than the picture indicates. I do think there's a reason for this: When I took the picture, I believe that I was using a daylight-balanced CFL (curly) bulb in my lamp. Now I am using daylight-balanced LED bulbs in my lamps. These daylight-balanced bulbs are supposed to imitate sunlight, but the actual spectrum of light that they produce changes according to the kind of technology used. |
