6mm Greenish-Turquoise Speckled Coated Round Beads [50]
Style: |
G2185 |
Beads per lot: |
50 |
Cost per bead: |
7 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm round (spherical). |
Colors/description: |
Glass beads (clear or white) with a synthetic greenish-turquoise coating with brown speckles (the brown speckles, which are not very distinct, make the beads look olive-green). I believe that this is the kind of synthetic coating which has been fired onto the beads to make it permanent, but I'm not sure about that. It feels hard to the touch. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The picture revealed some beads which were stuck together, but you won't get those because I'll be counting the beads by hand. (When coated beads are made, they are sprayed with the coating while suspended on strings. If they are touching, the coating causes them to stick together.) |
How photographed: |
Under a daylight-balanced lamp. |
Comments: |
As I said above, the brown speckles on these beads are not very well formed, and they make the beads look olive green. My picture isn't the best. The picture that I got at the window was too blurry, so I took a picture under a lamp. Unfortunately, that leaves a bright dot on each bead. These were expensive beads, which is why my price is so high. (However, in December, 2015 I decided that $4.00 for 50 beads was too high, so I lowered the price to $3.50.) |
