Beads per lot: | 100 |
Cost per bead: | 5.4 cents |
Bead material: | Glass |
Country of origin: | Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
5mm round with flutes (flutes are grooves like an accordion squash has). |
Colors/description: |
Translucent light aqua and translucent blue with a silvery coating on part of each bead; hints of green can be seen in the beads (see Comments below). |
Hole size: | 1mm (estimated). |
Defects: |
The beads appear to be in good shape, though some are fatter than others. Variation in size and/or shape is more common with small beads than large beads. |

First, please note what I said above in Defects (about the size). I carried these beads in the 8mm size for a long time, but they are out of stock at the supplier. The 8mm beads appeared to have more green in them. Please note that I am not sure if the blue color is in the glass or if it is a coating. Also, the silver coating doesn't appear to be a typical AB coating. It's possible that the silvery coating is heat-sealed to the beads, but I'm not sure (AB coatings are not heat-sealed). Regarding the price, these were very expensive (more expensive than the other 5mm fluted beads). I had to decide whether to sell them in lots of 50 beads for less money, or in lots of 100. Since it is less work to sell them in lots of 100, I decided to do that. |
