6mm Deep Purple Round Glass Pearls [75]
Style: | G1949 |
Beads per lot: |
75 |
Cost per bead: |
5 cents |
Bead material: |
Glass |
Country of origin: |
Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm round (spherical). |
Colors/description: |
Glass beads, probably white, with a lustrous dark-purple synthetic coating. |
Hole size: |
1mm (estimated). |
Defects: | The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is. Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads). A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. |
How photographed: | At the window in natural daylight. |
Comments: |
The supplier told me that their Czech manufacturer of glass pearls went out of business, and these beads are from a new manufacturer. This is a color I haven't seen before. My picture, unfortunately, isn't that good -- it has too many light reflections, and the parts of the beads that don't have reflections are too dark. Please note that in some kinds of light (such as white flourescent light) the beads may look dark blue instead of dark purple. My blurb above about the defects was written for beads from the old manufacturer. These beads look like they may be more perfect than the old ones. |
