Colors/description: |
Glass beads, probably milky white but possibly clear, with a lustrous medium olive green synthetic coating. When held up to the light, the beads are slightly translucent. The color of these beads is very intense. |

| Defects: | The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it is. Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads). A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt. |

IMPORTANT: In 2013 I realized that many of the pearls that I was selling had faded while they sat in the box. However, these pearls seem to have held up very well. They are still a very intense olive green, and I really love them. In 2020, when I compared the actual beads to the picture, they look slightly more olive (i.e., yellowish) than they did when I bought them, but it is a slight difference. Because these beads have held up well, and because the color is so intense, I have not lowered the price. The supplier told me that their Czech manufacturer of glass pearls went out of business, and these beads are from a new manufacturer. Light-colored pearls from the new manufacturer are all semi-translucent. I would prefer that they were completely opaque, but they still look very nice. I carry another 6mm pearl which I call olive green, but it is much less olive (i.e., yellowish) than these beads are. Personally, I think this color is gorgeous. My blurb above about the defects was written for beads from the old manufacturer. These beads look like they may be more perfect than the old ones. |
