This particular batch of these beads is not as shiny and lustrous as the first ones I bought (in 2002!). Also, the colors are not as rich. |
How photographed: |
Under two daylight-balanced lamps. Note: Using lamps leaves two bright spots on each bead -- especially on round beads -- but that can't be helped. Also, the close-up shot may show defects that the human eye can't discern. |

You may have noticed that the number of these beads is G001 (the G stands for "glass"). What that means is that these are the very first beads that I ever posted on this site. However, these are not the first batch of these beads that I carried. The first batch was sold to me by another supplier. Those original beads were older than these beads, and they were nicer. Their surface was shinier, and the colors were richer. It was seeing these beads on a counter in that supplier's store that got me hooked on the bead business -- but that is ancient history now. Having established that these beads are not as nice as the original beads, I want you to know that I still think they are nice. Their finish is slightly duller than the original batch, but they are still nicer than other batches of these beads that I have seen. And the price is good. |

These beads are still being sold by A, but their price is high, and I know that the original batch is gone; |
