6x9mm Turquoise/Brown Umber Faceted Rondelle Beads [20] (see Comments)
Style: | F582 |
Beads per lot: | 20 |
Cost per bead: | 20 cents |
Bead material: | Glass |
Country of origin: | Czech Republic |
Size/shape: |
6mm (thick) x 9mm (wide) rondelles. Rondelles are round beads which are wider than they are long. This shape is usually referred to as "gemstone". |
Colors/description: |
A loose mixture of opaque brown umber, greenish turquoise (i.e., opague greenish aqua), and clear glass which is slightly milky. The milky glass looks like it might be pink or lavender, but it is hard to tell whether the color I'm seeing is in the glass or if there is some kind of optical illusion. In some kinds of light, the brown umber may appear coral red or coral orange. |
Hole size: | 1mm (estimated). |
Defects: | I haven't noticed any significant defects. However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets. |
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylgiht. The supplier's picture can also be viewed. |

I really like these beads. They were extremely expensive, which is why I am selling them as Premium beads. It may sound strange that I can't tell if the milky glass is white or pink. When I look at it with my eyes, it looks pink (or perhaps lavender), but when I look at it with a magnifying glass, I'm not sure it is pink at all. About the picture: My camera made the turquoise portion of the beads look too blue; but when I shifted the color so that the turquoise looked correct (meaning, more green), the brown umber portion became red. I found a spot somewhere in the middle where the colors look almost right. Even so, the turquoise of the actual beads looks more green than the picture indicates. |
