Colors/description:

Clear beads with an orange or golden-orange coating, with an AB coating on part of each bead.  I don't know if the orange coating is glass or synthetic (probably synthetic).

Hole size:

1mm (estimated).

Defects:

I haven't noticed any significant defects.  However, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets.  To read about the fire-polishing process, click here.

Comments:

The supplier calls this color "goldfish".  As I said above, the color is in the coating, and I'm pretty sure the coating is synthetic.  The synthetic coatings the Czech manufacturers are using are getting harder and harder, and they feel like glass.  On top of the orange color is a silvery AB coating on part of each bead, although the AB coating isn't very prominent.

About the color:  Under my daylight-balanced artificial lights at night, the color looks like a light bright orange, but in the picture (which was taken in actual daylight), the color has a golden tint.  Perhaps my camera wasn't able to capture the color, which sometimes happens.

About the picture:  In January 2009 I started to photograph all beads to the same scale.  The new scale made 4mm look very small.  Since then I have abandoned that scale.  When I have the time I'll re-take the picture of these beads so they don't look so small.
