Item no.:

G1401

Bead material:

glass

Country of origin:

Czech Republic

Size/shape:

6mm round (spherical).

Colors/description:

Glass beads (white or clear) with a hematite-colored synthetic coating.  Hematite is gunmetal gray.

Defects:

The coating on Czech pearls is fairly thin, and I don't know how durable it will be.  Also, inevitably a few pearls will be missing some coating around one of the holes (a common defect with Czech coated beads).  A few pearls may also have some anomalies in the coating, such as bumps, indentations or a bit of dirt.  I have written a special page about glass pearls and other coated beads; please click here to read it.

How photographed:

At the window in natural daylight.

Comments:

Hematite pearls are more lustrous and look less like real metal than either real hematite beads or hematite-coated glass beads.
