Size/shape: |
6mm (from end to end) teardrop beads. |

Colors/description: |
Milky opalescent alexandrite. The
alexandrite color is light blue in fluorescent light, and rosy pink or violet in incandescent light and daylight.
In this case, these beads are violet, never becoming pink. |
|
Defects: |
The beads appear to be in good shape. |
|
How photographed: |
At the window in natural daylight. |
|
Comments: |
These are the first opalescent or milky
alexandrite beads I have ever seen. In the past, all alexandrite beads were translucent. Perhaps
because of the milkiness, these beads never become pink, as most alexandrite beads do. They go from very
light blue to light violet (the picture shows them in their violet state). |
