An opaque white bead with a mottled purple luster coating.

1mm (estimated).

Defects:

An occasional bead – not many – is missing the purple coating on one or two facets, so that the underlying white bead shows through.  In addition, fire-polished beads always have some imperfect facets.  To read about the fire-polishing process, click here.

Comments:

The picture above is a little dark; the actual beads are a bit lighter.  The color of these beads is really pleasing, a very rich purple (or deep lavender).  This is one of those beads that is so pretty that I just enjoy looking at them.
